In the spring of 2026, The Shefa Center hosted its inaugural national conference, Together We Thrive: Strengthening Foundations for Diverse Learners in Jewish Day Schools, in partnership with four other national organizations at The Shefa School.
More than 140 teachers, learning specialists, school leaders, and researchers traveled from over 39 cities across the country for two days of learning, connection, and collaboration.
Throughout the conference, participants stepped into classrooms to observe evidence-based instruction in action, attended educational sessions, and collaborated with peers who share a commitment to supporting diverse learners.
This conference will continue as a biennial convening, with follow-up programming and ongoing opportunities throughout the year to ensure participants remain connected, supported, and engaged in the work.
One participant captured the significance of the conference in a single line: “This conference, in short, has launched a field.”
The conference reflects The Shefa Center’s ongoing work to strengthen the field and expand support for diverse learners in Jewish day schools and beyond.
